There is no lift, the wifi is honest about its limits, and the last stretch of the drive is gravel. What there is instead: nine rooms that all face the same view, a fire lit from October, and breakfast that runs until whenever you come down.
Most guests book two nights and stay three.

Rooms 5–7
The stone rooms
Cut into the original walls, with the bathrooms built from the same stone. Cooler in summer, and quiet in a way the newer rooms are not.
Downstairs
The long room
Where breakfast happens, and where most people end up again by four o'clock. Books, a fire, and no television anywhere in the building.
Some mornings the cloud sits below us and the whole valley disappears — the last page of the guest book
